Well done Year 4

On Thursday the children completed the front pages of their rainforest newspapers on time. They had all been allocated jobs - editors, reporters or photographers. Some of the published stories were only short snippets due to lack of space on the paper (and size of handwriting). They certainly used their communication skills to do this!

Rainforest Newspaper

The children are making the front page of a rainforest newspaper. They decided on the name of the paper and the typeface to be used for it. Each group of children played the part of a different type of rainforest worker. They the interviewed each other as if they were a reporter, asking how the logging would affect the forest. This will be written up as a front page story with photos of themselves as the native workers. They are using communication skills, ICT skills and thinking skills to do this.

Circuit training in the yard.

For our Health and Fitness programme of work this term, the children took part in our own circuit training. This involved a series of aerobic exercises, moving from task to task for a limited time, and recording their performance. Can they beat this next time? This involved using number skills to keep count, and communication skills.
