Arms Park Tag Rugby Tournament

On the Thursday before half term some of the children from year 4 were fortunate enough to attend a tag rugby fun day at Cardiff Arms Park. Due to some teams not turning up, the two Pontyclun teams played almost non-stop all afternoon! They acquitted themselves brilliantly, playing some excellent rugby and really showing some great skills. Despite playing mostly year 5 and year 6 teams, both sides won some of their matches and even when they didn't, showed  excellent sportsmanship, which was really pleasing.

A massive thank you too, to Mr. Williams who allowed Year 4 to attend this year; the children had a great time and will no doubt benefit from such a wonderful experience. Here's some photos of the kids in action:

Save the Rainforests!!

The children were incredibly interested to learn about what is being done to save the rainforests this week, so here are some links to some websites where they'll be able to learn more about the issues of deforestation and also charities and conservation projects involved in such an important cause:

Summer Term PE

This half- term we've been focusing on health and fitness during our outdoor PE sessions, thinking about why exercise is important and the effects it has on our bodies. The children have been put through their paces completing different sessions of circuit training. Last week, they also had the opportunity to create their own circuits and showed creativity as well as excellent collaborative skills in doing so. Here's some photos of them performing some of their circuits:
