Lets' Stop the Block- Welsh Water Competition

We had a visit from Dwr Cymru this week, telling us all about their 'Let's Stop the Block' campaign. The children were given a very funny and interactive assembly all about the problems caused by flushing anything that shouldn't be flushed, down our toilets!

They running a competition for the children, who have to design a poster for the new campaign, with the fabulous prize being a 3 day residential trip to Danywenallt Outdoor Pursuits Centre in the Brecon Beacons (http://www.breconbeacons.org/learning/learning-centres/danywenallt-yha) for a class of 30 pupils in July 2013.

They want pupils to design a poster to raise awareness about the campaign. The winning poster will be used to promote the campaign in schools across Wales.

The criteria:

• A3 size
• Must contain the 'Let's Stop the Block' and 'Stop Cyn Creu Bloc'
• Use predominantly blue, pink and green

Y Pant Football Tournament

The children at had a great time at Y Pant last week playing football against other cluster schools as well as each other! The children showed excellent team work throughout the day and gave an excellent account of themselves and the school. It was also nice to catch up with some former Pontyclun pupils! Children in Need

Apologies for the delay in uploading these photos. The children thoroughly enjoyed the Children in Need day at out school this year, wearing red or something funny for money! The photos show how much fun the children had, with everyone giving generously during the stalls in the afternoon!  Well done to year 6 who provided the school with some brilliant stalls! Also, a big thank you to all parents enabling us to raise such a wonderful amount of money once again.
