Welsh conversation and history investigations

The children in year 4 created and read to the class their dialogue based on shopping for the family.

In Year 4 we have been learning about crime and punishment in Tudor times.

We looked at different sources about crime and punishment and tried to find the evidence each source contained.

We then talked about what kinds of crime were common in Tudor times, and what kinds of punishment were given for Tudor crimes.

Later we discussed whether we could trust the evidence.

Click on the picture above to look at the kinds of crime and punishment that were common in Tudor Wales.

Gwyl Plant Morgannwg - Children's Festival of Dance

Pontyclun's dance team took part in Gwyl Plant Morgannwg - The Children's Dance Festival at St. Fagans on Saturday 13th June. They danced with other schools from all over Glamorgan, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves on a sunny summer's day!

Our skeletons

The children traced around their bodies, and then drew where they imagined where their bones would be inside the outline. We then discussed the shape of a skeleton, and its role in our bodies.

Making fruit smoothies

During the D.T. lesson, year four made their own fruit smoothies. Each group voted on the fruits that they would prefer to use.

Year 4 End of Term Shared Assembly

For our assembly we devised a dance and also showed the importance of the rainforests.

We start our dance lessons with a warm up exercise.

We devised our Happy Go Lucky dance this term to 'Singing in the Rain'.

The survival of the rainforests is vitally important to animals, plants and humans.
This part of our assembly demonstrates the fact that we must not cut down the forests without replanting.
