Testing forces and friction
Newton meters were used to test the force necessary to pull a weighted shoe across different surfaces, to discover the amount of friction on each one. The higher the reading, the greater the friction. They used thinking , number and communicating skills to do this.

St Lucia Project
The children decided for themselves where they thought some of the main features in St Lucia would be, such as tourist areas, villages and the airport etc. They discussed this giving their reasons. They later checked their placings against the actual map of St. Lucia. This involved asking questions and linking ideas - communication skills.
